Week 38

You have been struggling to hold on to objects and you finally managed to hold on to the coffee table and stand on your own (30 Mar). After that there was no stopping!! You’ve been crawl-sit-crawl-sit-crawl..so far but now you crawl on your four superbly (31Mar). You also started cruising on your own. When I left you to play on your own in the living room, you crawled-sat-crawled your way to another end and begun banging the Buddha figurine. When I heard that I quickly got out of the kitchen and saw that you almost had candles in your mouth!!! I took out the interactive ball, A. Nela gave you after a long time and guess what? You crawled towards it, pushed it and when it started responding, you were babbling back! This weekend Daddy and I are going to work on making the house safe for you to crawl anywhere and everywhere. You seem to nibble at cables, strings or anything that dangles. You babble extra when daddy comes home and that is fascinating, I wonder if you are trying to tell him ‘Where on Earth were you, and come on quick to play with me :)’. Daddy has been taking us out when he gets back from work and you love to watch cars, the buildings and sometimes trees and birds. We have started going to the play area in the evenings as the afternoons are super HOT! We took out the tumbling police jeep for you and you were mesmerized with what the jeep can do :).Your rings and blocks are out, I have to make some interesting games for you so that you understand the concept of throwing the blocks in the bucket or putting the rings in the pole. You know that’s got to be done, you try, but more then that you love to put them in your mouth. One of your game inventions is holding on to the white chair and shaking it to and fro rapidly by jumping….you do have a lot of energy! This week we took you to church for the ‘Passion Sunday’ and you did not want to sit at all, nor look at your toy. You just wanted to socialize with children and people, hold on to the bench and JUMP. You made friends with some baby's Nana and begun touching her face, reaching out to grab her specs, chain et al. After the service she cuddled you and told us she too had a grand-daughter 8 months who had teeth @ birth. This week you ate a lot of starchy food besides just fruits and veggies. You had Idlies, bread, kichidi, and sweet potato.Your cousin Euan wrote you two emails

Week 37

Your mouth found your toes this week :) and you love to suck on them especially when I am changing your diaper or after a wash. You do a triangle with your feet, hips and hands while crawling and you desperately latch on to anything and everything to stand on your own :). You have registered that mommy takes you to the play park at 2-3pm and you throw tantrums if I do not step out of our home with you. This week you were on cloud 9 with your cousins Kenisha and Kiana. You would have your breakfast, lunch and evening meal with them. You would be first to finish your lunch amongst the 3 of them - GOOD BOY!!! You 3 had jumping sessions i.e. they two on our bed and you in your cot :)). You have started voicing your emotions - especially boredom and anger with sounds. Daddy had a shut down as he has been doing late nights for you and after that driving to work. We are desperately trying everything to get you sleep through the night. Did I tell you that about 4 weeks back, one morning after you woke up, you begun playing with your baby monitor that is attached to your cot and you found the wire and off it went into your mouth!!! You begun crying, I think you got a wee bit of electric current: P!!! You haven't learnt and you still do it. Daddy took all of us on our first Metro ride. Your cousins and you were thrilled!!!You wanted to stand hold on to the steel side railings and jump throughout the ride.

Week 36

I laughed a lot this week whenever I would find you standing on your own, holding the railing of your cot and jumping non-stop LOL!!! You make this cringed face and breathing profusely with excitement that you can finally do something that you love on your own i.e.JUMP. You just want to hold on to anything and stand...sofa, table, bed, the chair at the play park. Sometimes you think you can stand and you leave the object and BAM...but you never give up Darluboy. Your cousins visited you early this week and decided to come over to stay with you till the next week. You were sooooooooooo excited with them around you. Every time you woke up, all you wanted to do is head out to their room and touch their face, play with them, babble something to them. Your cousin Kiana would ask what your babble "oooh" or 'oooohhhh" mean :). Your A. Serena got a taste of your jumpity-jump trip and seeing that your cousin Kenisha could not believe that it was you who was jumping. She wanted to try it out herself and we were in splits watching her reaction once she held you :) and almost lost control of you. A. Serena passed on K1&2's ski-on-wheels and my-o-my your cousins took you for a jolly fast ride in the parking lot. We celebrated your friend (our neighbor) Arya's birthday at our home and she loved it.
